Updated: Feb 19, 2021

I love this segment because I am interacting with so many wonderful people.

In this Episode of the Author to Author segment I am proud to present Susmita Gupta, Author of 'To love that knows no bound’.

She is a story teller. She loves to write about Love, Romance and Motivational stories. She is the biggest admirer of life. Though she is an experienced Human Resources Administrative Specialist her interest lies in writing books. As a person she always believes in the saying, ‘the secret to living is giving.’ She believes nothing can be better than contributing to the well being of others; be it time or knowledge to help and motivate others so that we can create a better world. She applies this in her real life as well. As a woman she feels that it’s high time that every woman must inspire and uplift each other. ‘To love that knows no bound’, is her first novel. Besides this she has written more than one hundred quotes inspired by daily life. She loves to read, travel, explore new places, & learn new things as she believes that, ‘everyday is a learning,’ and this leaves a great impact in one’s life.

1. What does writing mean to you? Why do you write? For me, writing means expressing the thoughts be it related to any kind of relationship or anything related to life.

Through my writing I connect with others, I feel some kind of communication with others. Besides this, I feel contented.

2. When did you start writing? Do you remember the first time you wrote something? I began writing couple of years back with quotes and poems inspired by daily life but when it comes to the journey of becoming an author I began writing my first masterpiece ‘To Love that knows no bounds’ in the year 2019 and successfully published in August 2020.

3. What was the source of your inspiration earlier? Did it change with the time? I feel nothing can be more inspirational than our life itself. My life is my biggest inspiration.

4. Would you like to share few of your favourite lines of your story? I would like to share one line from my last released novel which is inspired from real life.

“Tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. Bank balance, property and the arrogance based on them, status, everything will turn into ashes after we are off from this world.”

5. What is the most difficult part of your writing process? Proofreading makes me bore and I feel it is the most difficult and the important part of writing.

6. What comes first for you — the plot or the characters — and why? Both.....reason being, both are equally important and supplementary.

7. What’s your favorite and least favorite part of publishing? My favourite part of publishing is to see the fruit of my effort into a beautiful book.

8. How did you come up with the title for your book? This is very mysterious for me even because I also don’t understand every title of my book comes from within and match up well with the story line.

9. What inspired the idea for your book? “To Love that knows no bounds” is my first published novel completed on 10th August 2020. So, it happened this way. The first idea of writing a story came to my mind nearly 10 years back inspired from Indian TV serials as I was very addicted to it at one point of time. The first blocker being “How do I proceed?” as I was not from a literature background additionally neither an avid reader nor did I pursued any content writing course ever. Being perplexed I set the ball rolling with reading romantic novels. After reading around 20 novels I developed an idea of how a book is written. Thereafter embarking upon I began writing quotes inspired by daily lives on friendship, love, romance, trust, Rumour and jealousy with which I picked the concept of “To love that knows no bounds – A romantic tale that revolves around the lives of the protagonist Shilpa and Karan who are dramatically different from each other but unique in themselves. Shilpa is an epitome of beauty with brains, besides being beautiful she is simple, empathetic, strong, and a kind hearted established lady whereas Karan is a rich affluent handsome eligible bachelor and a smart businessman, besides being handsome he is a heartthrob of almost all the women around. Now, when two different people meets one question definitely arises in everyone’s mind that whether or not they will be able to make it as a couple until their last breathe

Basically it’s a love story where a series of events takes place in the lives of the protagonist starting from acquaintance, friendship, love, trust, sacrifice, romance, rumour and jealousy. The twist is to find out whether the universe will conspire in their favour and the role of destiny in uniting this different couple.

10.What part of the book did you have the hardest time writing? At times it becomes bit difficult while forming the main characters of the story. I find it bit challenging.

11.What do you need in your writing space to help you stay focused? I believe writing is all about imagination and it happens only when one remains at the peace of their mind regardless of anything that helps you stay focused.

12.What is the future for the characters? Will there be a sequel? Umm....Let’s see I am planning to release the second edition of “To Love that knows no bounds”.

13.What do you like to do when you are not writing? Reading is my favourite past time besides writing.

14.Which writers have inspired you? Do you feel yourself ever influenced by the writing style of a writer? I am always inspired by Sudha Murthy and Ruskin Bonds writing. The sole reason being their stories and style of writing which stands distinct from others.

15.How often do you write? People say writing needs time; best words come out in leisure. How do you manage your time to write and work? I have never followed any specific routine or schedule for writing because I believe writing is all about imagination and it happens only when one remains at the peace of their mind regardless of time. I give equal priority to my profession and passion so none gets affected with each other. I feel once you are dedicated towards something no blocker looks like a blocker somehow you overcome that.

16. Please let the readers know about your projects for future? Are your working on any book? And please share any stanza you have written and you repeat it most of the times. After ‘To Love that knows no bounds’ I published a fiction short story “Was it Love or Lust?”. Very soon I will be releasing my next novel.

My favourite line till now that I always repeat.

“Tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. Bank balance, property and the arrogance based on them, status, everything will turn into ashes after we are off from this world.”

17. What is your message to the young & aspiring authors who are willing to explore the new dimensions of creative writing? I always tell just one thing “Never quit, just keep trying and trust in your own abilities. Have faith in yourself because the path of success is not easy there might be a lot of setbacks and for that patience and perseverance is the key.”

18.Mention your upcoming writing endeavours? I am eagerly waiting for my upcoming novel which is going to be inspirational than ever.
