Call it burnout or just a shift in priorities, but I haven’t been promoting my books as much as I probably should. I’ve been focusing on writing instead — with four new books slated to launch soon, amongst other things.

So, the abysmal sales don’t come as a surprise. In fact, a marketing friend once told me, “You deserve it,” and honestly, he wasn’t wrong.

But every now and then, I see a new review pop up on some platform — and that truly makes my day. It reminds me that somewhere out there, my words are still reaching someone, still entertaining someone.

That’s the life of an indie author, ladies and gents — a constant tug-of-war between spending time writing new stories or promoting the old ones.

And you know what? I’m genuinely happy with how it’s all turning out.
