I may sound a little biased toward writing, and that’s perfectly understandable. After all, writing is the craft I practice and the art form I know most intimately. While I deeply appreciate all forms of artistic expression, writing is the medium I understand best and the one through which I make sense of the world.
Every artistic discipline has its own beauty, challenges, and unique power to move people. Musicians create emotions through sound, painters capture meaning through colour and imagery, dancers tell stories through movement, and filmmakers bring entire worlds to life on screen. Writing is merely one of many paths through which human beings express their creativity.
The reflections in this article are not about one art form being superior to another. Rather, they explore why storytelling and authorship seem to attract so many people. Perhaps it is because everyone carries a story within them, and writing offers one of the most accessible ways to share those experiences with the world.
